Obituary of Kevin M. Kilfoil
Kevin MacIsaac Kilfoil March 22, 1939 - Feb. 15, 2010 The death of Kevin MacIsaac Kilfoil occured at home of cancer. Born on a farm in Johnville, NB. Kevin was raised in a home that placed a high value on education and social justice. He became a teacher and principal. During his more than three decades of teaching, he impacted the lives of thousands of students and teachers in Saint John and Sussex. Throughout his life, he gave back to his community as an active member of his church, and community and political organizations. Upon retirement, he began to take some well deserved leisure time and became a regular fixture on the Sussex Golf course, ski hill and curling club. He decided he liked to travel, and did so to Africa, England, Ireland, Barbados, hiked across Spain, taught a year in Costa Rica, and was a member of a Maritime carpenter team that built a school in Rabinal, Guatemala. However, his greatest role in life was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann (Boudreau); daughters Christine (David) of Ottawa; Valerie of Fredericton; Laura (Mike) of Lincoln; and son Richard (Cheryl) of Toronto; plus 10 grandchildren, Chester, Erin, Emma, Alex, MacIsaac, Ben, Ian, Grace, Isabella and Jane; brothers and sisters Terry, Bert, Ed, Martha, Ben, Desi, and Monica. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Rita (MacIsaac) Kilfoil. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rabinal Scholarship Fund, in care of the Tatamagouche Center, RR3 Tatamagouche, NS, B0K 1V0 Canada. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 18, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Sussex.
