Obituary of George Alison

It is with great sadness that the family of George John Alison, age 88, of Sussex Corner, NB, announces his death which occurred on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Sussex Health Centre, Sussex, NB.

He was born in Dornoch, Scotland, on April 14, 1929, a son of the late James and Isabella (Millam) Alison.

George is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carol Alison; children: Jamie (Cindy) Alison of Calgary, AB, Heather (Kevin) Rolfe of Stanley, NB, Bruce Alison of Malaysia, and Sara (John) Merrithew of Douglas, NB; step-children: Karen Colpitts (Grant Boyd) of Cambridge-Narrows, NB, and Kevin (Margaret) Wiggins of Bloomfield Station, NB; brother James Alison of Quispamsis, NB; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sisters: Evelyn Carlisle, Rachel Thomson and Anne Hart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sussex Select Community Funeral Home (506-433-2133), 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00AM from St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 4 Needle Street, Sussex Corner. Interment will take place at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Sussex Corner. Donations in memory of George may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
