Obituary of Jean McGibbon
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Edith McGibbon at her home in Sussex on Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Archibald McGibbon, Jean was born in Knightville, N.B. on February 8, 1921 to Nelson and Laura (Carll) Anderson. She is survived by her children Doreen (Reg) Busson of Chipman, Murray (Pat) McGibbon of Sussex, Kenneth McGibbon of Churchill, MB, Anne (Bruce) Jackson, John (Mary Anne) McGibbon all of Sussex, and Brenda (Roy) Kaye of Sussex Corner, grandchildren; Dale (Nancy) Long, Bonnie (Sandy) Brake, Caran (Sheldon) Seward, Brandy McGibbon, Coleen (Morgan) Gibson, Jeremy (Sheri) Jackson, Heather Jackson, Ryan (Jen) Jackson, Troy (Vanessa) McGibbon, Joel (Jessi) McGibbon, Garrett (Gillian) Kaye and Holly (Justin) Carhart; great-grandchildren; Julianne, Liam, Blake, Riley, Nate, Connor, Bailey, John Paul, Eli, Carter, Alicia, Derick, Nolan, Reegan, Owen and Leah. Also survived by sister Pauline Mills of Sussex, brother Lloyd (Audrey) Anderson of Oliver, B.C., sisters-in-law Eris MacIntosh of Chatham, Ont. And Pauline McGibbon of Anagance, special cousin Edith Coates and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church and a life member of St. Paul’s UCW. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Saturday, 3-7pm. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 13, at 1:00pm at St. Paul’s United Church, Sussex, with Reverend Scott Hillier officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Corn Hill.
