Obituary of Arnold Gerard Theodore Beyer

Arnold Beyer Farmer … Loving Partner … Kind Father & Grandfather Arnold died peacefully at his home in Norton. Arnold was born in Druten, Netherlands, a son of the late Maria & Arnold Beyer. He was the loving husband of 64 years to Theodora (Dora) Beyer (nee van Ooyen) who passed away in May, 2016. Arnold’s interest in animals and farming started at a young age as he worked on the family farm and studied at agricultural school. He also served in the Dutch Army having been deployed to Indonesia from November 1947 until May 1950. In 1952, Arnold and Dora were married and immigrated to Canada, arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax. They initially moved to Chatham, Ontario for work, before eventually moving in 1958 to Norton, NB. It was here where they realized their dream of owning their own farm. Arnold was a very hard worker and a devoted family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends always ready for an interesting conversation with a cup of coffee or tea. He could always be found enjoying a lively hockey game on TV, reading, and doing puzzles. Predeceased by his loving wife Dora; his daughters: Maria and Dorothy.
