B. Emma Anderson, 87, of Sussex passed away on January 4, 2013 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. Born in Walker Settlement, she was a daughter of the late S. Thompson and Martha (nee Walker) Anderson. Emma is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by sisters-in-law; Ruby Anderson and Mary Anderson as well as several nieces and nephews. Emma was a member of St. John’s United Church and a member of the St. John’s United Church UCW. She was also a member of Harmony Lodge #176, Canadian Cancer Society and the Sussex Health Center Auxilliary. Besides her parents, Emma was predeceased by her sisters: Lauretta Campbell, Florence Lynch, Kathleen Steele, Pauline Barton, Lillian Joyce and Marion Anderson; and brothers: Derald, Jarvis and Raymond Anderson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sussex Select Community Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 12:30pm - 1:45pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00pm, all at St. John’s United Church, Sussex Corner, with Rev. Eugene Fisher presiding. Interment will be held in the Trinity Cemetery at a later date. Donations made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
