Buchanan William J. ”Big Willy”, 29, of Fredericton, and formerly of Sussex Corner, passed away unexpectedly at the Dr. Evert Chalmers Hospital on June 8, 2013. Born on March 25, 1984 in Sussex, he was the son of Clarence and Audrey (nee Cummings) Buchanan. William is also survived by his sister, Amy Buchanan; step-father, Andy McFarland; step- sister, Melissa McFarland; step-brothers: Michael and Shawn McFarland (Sonya); nieces: Violet and Alexus; nephew, Nicholas; paternal grandfather, Ora Buchanan and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Beaman; as well as many extended family members. William was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Clara Buchanan and maternal grandfather, George Cummings. William enjoyed spending time with his family whenever possible and enjoyed being an avid Judge and playing the card game, “Magic The Gathering”, and was the 2011 New Brunswick Provincial Champion. William was a giver in many ways from being an avid blood donor and as well as growing his hair and donating it to the Locks of Love Foundation; he would always put others before himself and will be sorely missed by his friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sussex Select Community Funeral Home where visitation will be held on Thursday June 13, from 1-3 & 6-8pm; the funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00am with Rev. Allen Tapley presiding at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner.
