It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kevin Marvin Coates of Newtown at the Sussex Health Centre on August 11, 2013. Kevin was born in Sussex, on September, 11, 1966. He was a real country boy at heart. He enjoyed outdoors, the farm, his cattle, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He loved to laugh, joke, and torment. Amber and Karter were great joys in Kevin’s life; he affectionately referred to them as his “Varmint” and his “Twiddle-dee”. He is survived by his companion, Nancy Lisson; his children: Amber Helen Coates, and Karter Duncan Coates, both at home; and Jennifer Melvin of Norton; his brother, Philip Coates (Tari) of Wheaton Settlement; his grandson, Ian Pitcher, and Ian’s mother, Leah Pitcher; his aunt, Barbara Anderson (Morris) of Corn Hill; his uncle, Kenny Manning of Moncton; and by his niece Brady and nephew Falyn Coates. Kevin was predeceased by his son, Nevin Tyrel Coates; and his grandparents: Annie Manning and Wesley Coates. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm; the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Wally Collett presiding, all in Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506) 433-2133. Interment will be held in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
