Obituary of Thomas Grundy
Grundy, Thomas, “Tom”, 73, of Sussex Corner, NB, passed away at home on August 8, 2013. Born in Liverpool, England on August 17, 1939, he was a son of the late Richard and Phoebe (nee Siddal) Grundy. Thomas was a marine electrician for Upper Lake Shipping and thoroughly enjoyed spending his time sailing on the seas. He has been a member of the legion for the past 35 years, was the current Service Officer for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20 in Sussex and formerly the 2nd Vice President. Thomas enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family and friends. He could often be found hanging out in the pool with his grandchildren and spending time at family gatherings. Thomas is survived by his wife, Norma Grundy (nee Stewart); his step-daughter, Debra Crossman; his step-son, Terry Stewart; his granddaughter, Sarah Dorcas; his grandson, Troy Crossman; his great-grandchildren, Benjamin & Carleigh; and many more extended family members and friends. Thomas was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex. (506)433-2133. There will be no visitation as per Thomas’ request. A legion tribute will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 12:45pm; the funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Allan Tapley presiding, all at St. Marks Anglican Church in Sussex Corner.
