Obituary of Sidney Brenton

Sidney “Clyde” Brenton, 77, of Sussex, passed away surrounded by his family at the Sussex Health Centre on July 24, 2017. Born in Trinity, Bonavista Bay, NF, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie (nee Brown) Brenton.

Clyde worked the majority of his life as a miner. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and his walks at the Civic Center.

Clyde is survived by his special friend Sharon Middaugh; his children: Elsie Brenton, David Brenton, Donnie Brenton, Cathy Pelley, Ivan Brenton, Charles Brenton (Valerie), and Marsha Brenton (Mike); his chosen daughter Crystal Belyea; his sisters: Geraldine Button and Elsie Hiscock; his sisters-in-law: Betty and Dorothy; as well as by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Besides his parents, Clyde was predeceased by his brothers: Clifford and George Brenton & Harvey Brown; his sisters: Dorothy and Elsie, and his sister-in-law Blanche (sister of Harvey Brown).

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 6-8 pm. There will be no funeral service by request. Interment will be held in St. Alban’s Cemetery.
