The death of Gerald Alexander MacKenzie of Sussex occurred on November 25, 2007 at the age of 85. Gerald was born at Hillgrove, NB a son of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth (Gourlay) MacKenzie. He was the husband of the late Helen (Ogilvie) MacKenzie who passed away in 1993. Gerald is survived by his daughters; Linda Homenick and husband Greg and their children Erik and Jessica and Nancy Drury and her children, Alysen and Amanda, sister Lillian O’Blenis of Salisbury and brother Berton MacKenzie of Quispamsis. He was predeceased by his wife Helen, sisters; Annie Coates, Roberta Bannister, Ida Trainor, Laura Graham, Norma Prosser and Jean Ganong and brother Arthur MacKenzie. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday from 7-9PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Zion Lodge #21 F &AM will hold a Masonic Tribute on Wednesday evening at 6:45PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday November 29, 2007 at the Sussex Baptist Church at 2:00PM with Dr. Leo Gallant officiating. Interment will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac. As expressions of sympathy donations made to the Sussex Baptist Church, the Extra Mural Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
