Mr. R. “Stewart” Moore, of Apohaqui, passed away on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Stewart was the son of the late Clarke and Annie (McKnight) Moore and the husband of the late Bertha Moore who passed away in 2006. Stewart was an avid card player and enjoyed playing horseshoes in his younger days. He worked as a mill operator for various mills and lumber yards and was not afraid of hard work. Stewart will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Deborah Powell (late Ronald) and his son George Moore; his grandchildren: Anthony Powell (Jennie) and Maria Powell (Colin Friars); his great grandson Jude; his sisters: Kathleen Henry of Apohaqui and Jean Smith of St. Stephen; his brothers: Gordon Moore (Mary) of Bible Hill, NS and James Moore (Donna) of Moncton, NB; his sister-in-law Myrtle Goddard of Waterford, as well as several nieces and nephews. Stewart was predeceased by his parents, his wife Bertha, his brother Cecil Moore and by his son-in-law Ronald Powell. Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506-433-2133) where visitation will be held on Sunday evening, August 7, 2016 from 6-8pm. A service celebrating Stewart’s life will be held from our Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery.
