The death of Doreen Mary (McManus) Doherty of Waterford, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on August 27, 2008 at the age of 85. Born at Urney, NB a daughter of the late James and Mary (Murphy) McManus. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Doreen was the wife of the late Frank Doherty who passed away in 1989. She was a life long member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Sussex. Doreen is survived by her son Hugh Doherty of Waterford and grandchildren; Hughanna (Ron) Dunfield of Sussex Corner, Christopher (Jane) Doherty of Sussex, Patrick Doherty (Tamara Perry) of Sussex and Daniel Doherty (Sarah Willden) of Moncton and great grandchildren Owen, Cayden and Maddie. In addition to her parents and husband Doreen was predeceased by a son James F. Doherty, her daughter-in-law June (MacDonald) Doherty, sisters Tress Cotter and Cecelia McGarrigle and brothers Daniel and Montgomery McManus. The family will receive visitors at the family home 843 Waterford Road, Waterford on Thursday from 7-9PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Sussex on Saturday August 30, 2008 at 1:00PM. Interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery.
