Patriquen, Bessie Mae, 101, of Saint John, and formerly of Sussex, passed away peacefully at the Sussex Health Centre on December 9, 2014. Born in Barker’s Point, York County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Jane (nee Hughes) Jones, and was the loving wife of the late David “Ronald” Patriquen. She is survived by her daughter Jane (Neil) Hanlon of Quispamsis; her grandchildren: George Lawson (Alison Auld) of Halifax, Andrew Lawson (Peggy) of Fresno, CA, Jared Hanlon (Jennifer) of Saint John, Jessica Hanlon (Craig James)of Saint John; great-grandchildren: Oliver Lawson, Beck Lawson, and Liam Hanlon; her nephew Bill Hammett (Carolyn) of Calgary, AB. She also leaves to mourn her special friends and staff at Dobbelsteyn’s Care Home. Besides her parents and husband, Bessie was predeceased by her sister Katherine Hammett. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, from where visitation will be held on Friday December 12, 2014 from 3 … 6 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Wandlyn Snelgrove presiding at Trinity Anglican Church.
