Doris Lounsbury was born in Hampton on December 26, 1915; she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Amelia (Giggey) Ryder and the wife of the late Howard E. Lounsbury who passed away in 2005. Doris was a Canadian Air Force Veteran and served in Canada and Newfoundland for many years. She was retired from the Unemployment Insurance Commission. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20. Doris loved to paint and has painted many pictures, her favourite past time was gardening and watching and feeding birds. Doris is survived by two stepsons: George and his wife Barbara of New Westminster, BC and Douglas of Toronto; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doris Louise Lounsbury of Sussex and formerly of Plumweseep passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on June 7, 2008 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her only brother, Gordon several years ago.
