Obituary of Nelson A. McFarlane

The death of Nelson Alexander McFarlane of Plumweseep, NB occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on May 14, 2010 at the age of 85.

Born in Roachville, NB, he was a son of the late Robert and Effie (Anderson) McFarlane.

Nelson worked at Steels’ Brothers of Canada in Burnaby, BC, retiring in 1989 after 33 years of service. Nelson is survived by his wife Darlene (Adair) McFarlane, daughter Eva Stagg of Delta, BC, sons; Paul (Esther) McFarlane of Langley, BC and Derack (Marlowe) McFarlane of New Westminster, BC, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren, step daughters; Betty (Brian) Murray of Jemseg, Effie (Phillip) Thorne of Kitimat, BC, Dawn (Paul) Adair of Hammondvale and Sheryle (Greg) Adair of Hammondvale, stepsons; Eldon (Dianne) McFarlane of Waterford, Murray McFarlane of Plumweseep, Stephen (Charlene) McFarlane of Hammondvale and Kenneth (Darlene) McFarlane of Jefferies Corner, his sisters; Phyllis Proctor of Plumweseep and Anne (Robert) Thorne of Moncton, brother Edward (Ruby) McFarlane of Rockville and several nieces and nephews.

Nelson was predeceased by his first wife Ruby McFarlane, infant son Stanley in 1948, infant stepson Leonard, stepson Russell McFarlane in 2005, sisters Linda Dill and Edris Fudge and brothers Donald, Raymond, Gordon and Lloyd McFarlane.

As per Nelson’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service held. Following cremation, interment will take place in Burnaby, BC.
