Obituary of Floyd Charles Summers

The death of Floyd Charles Summers of Sussex Corner occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on August 11, 2003. Floyd was born at Elgin, ON on January 20, 1922, a son of the late Harry and Vera (DeWolfe) Summers. Floyd is survived by his wife Emma (Myers) (Hamilton) Summers, son Gordon Summers and wife Wendy of Mississauga, ON, daughter Marlene Summers and husband John Gillan of Newmarket, ON, step daughter Carlotta Flegel of Bowser, BC, five grandchildren, one great grandson, brother Hubert Summers and wife Doris of Elgin, ON. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary, three brothers, Verrell, Ron and George and sister Ruth Bristol. Floyd was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a very avid Square Dancer. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday August 13, 2003 at the funeral home chapel, conducted by The Reverend Kevin Vincent. Interment will take place at Riverbank Cemetery. Sussex Branch #20 Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute Service Tuesday at 6:45 PM. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Apohaqui Community Church New Children's Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
