Obituary of Treva Alberta Jeffries

Mrs. Treva Alberta (Bert) Jeffries (Thorne) With profound sadness, the family of Treva Alberta Jeffries, announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 at McNair Manor in Riverview, NB. Born on January 13, 1922, Alberta was the daughter of the late Burle and Treva Thorne. Alberta lived in Jeffries Corner, Havelock and Sussex Corner for most of her life. She lived the last few years in Boundary Creek with her daughter Mary Ellen and family. Alberta was a wonderful mother, wife and role model for her children. She enjoyed her family, home, St. Mark’s Anglican Church and many social activities including the ACW, Order of the Easter Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Red Hats. She spent a lot of time preparing delicious meals, baking, sewing, quilting and painting. Alberta is survived by her son John Jeffries (Maureen) of Fredericton; her daughters: Mary Ellen Graves (Lorne) of Boundary Creek, Treva Jeffries (Colin MacFarlane) of Moncton and Sheila Allan (Stephen Millard) of Springhill, NS; her brother Donald Thorne (Ena) of Kinnear Settlement; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Alberta was predeceased by her husband Cecil Byron Jeffries; her young son Nelson Jeffries; her grandsons Matthew and Raymond Allan; her brothers: George, Otty, Emery and Arthur Thorne and by her sister Robina McQuinn. Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-2133 where visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28th, 2016 from 1-3pm with the funeral service to follow at 3:00pm in the Sussex Select Community Funeral Chapel. There will be a time of fellowship following the service in the reception area. Memorial donations to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Sussex Corner or the donor’s choice, in Alberta’s memory, would be appreciated by the family. www.sussexfh.com
