Obituary of Nina V. Snider

The death of Nina V. Snider occurred October 6, 2016 at the SHC at the age of 93. Nina was born at home on the Cumberland Road, Sussex Corner October 23, 1922 and is the daughter of the late Leslie & Margaret (Forsythe) Bell. Nina is survived by her only daughter Roberta and son-in-law Paul Kilpatrick of Sussex Corner. Nina was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1989 and her only sister Doris MacDonald in 2007 and infant brother. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, sister-in-law Gertie LaViolette & friends. Nina spent her life in Sussex and worked in the uptown best remembered for her years at MacAfee’s Drug Store where she went to work for summer employment and ended up retiring after 21 years. Nina enjoyed being busy. After retiring, she volunteered at the Sharing Club, enjoying time with Hattie, Mildred and Dorrothy. She also bowled, cross-country skied, knit, embroidered, had yard sales and played many games of cards. She also liked old time music and attended the Valley Jamboree. In the last years she entertained herself with word search word puzzles and always liked to stay on top of current events. She was an official fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and always scheduled time for Jeopardy every night. Nina was blessed with wonderful home care from her care giver, Anna Quinn as well as care and visits from special friend Nancy Robertson. Above all else, she was a wonderful and cherished Mother. Arrangements are in the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506) 433-1176 where visitation will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. A service celebrating Nina’s life will be held at Trinity Anglican Church on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will be held at Kirk Hill Cemetery. Donations, in Nina’s memory, can be made to the Charity of your choice. Many thanks to Dr. Scott Green for all his care and compassion.
