Obituary of Mary Thorne

Mary C. (Lottie) Thorne, passed away on February 27, 2017 at the Sussex Health Centre after a brief illness. Born in Alnwick Parish, Northumberland Co., NB on September 22, 1924. She was the eldest daughter of the late Philip and Charlotte (Savoie) Arsenault. Lottie is survived by her son Paul, daughters Debbie (Robin) Craig and Connie (Dave) Beaven and daughter-in-law Estelle; Grandchildren: Naydia (Scott) Ball, Nicholas Thorne and Mark Craig; Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Chase and Jett Ball and Landon Craig. She is survived by one brother Joseph Arsenault, sister-in-law Loraine (Robert) Adams and sister-in-law Carol Thorne as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friends Moyra and George Long, Grace and Mary Wheaton and Barb Finniss. In addition to her parents, Lottie was predeceased by her husband Ira, by three sisters: Blanche Hebert, Edna Walker and Lena Arsenault and by a baby brother Raymond. She was predeceased by sisters-in-law Marion Thorne, Margaret Thorne, Dorothy Thorne and Wilda Boyce Morrison and by brothers-in-law Vernon Thorne, Curtis Thorne, Raymond Thorne, Alexander (Alec) Hebert and Cecil Walker. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506) 433-2133. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1 from 6-8pm. A service celebrating Lottie's life will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from the Sussex Select Community Chapel at 2:00pm with Rev/Dr Leo Gallant, former senior Pastor of Sussex Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place in the Pioneer Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate remembrances made to the Sussex Baptist Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
