The death of Elizabeth “Beth” Joan Hourihan of Sussex occurred unexpectedly at her home on May 8, 2011 at the age of 47. Born in Sussex, she was a daughter of the late David and Anne (Boomer) Preston. Beth is survived by her husband Kevin Hourihan, her son, whom she adored, David, sister Kerry Lynn (Rodney) Armstrong of Apohaqui and children Thomas and Kevin, sister-in-law Roxanne Preston McLean (Kenny) of Norton and children Christopher and Cassie, mother-in-law Jean Hourihan of Passekeag, sisters and brothers-in-law; Carol (Wayne) Marr of Passekeag, Gary (Kim) Hourihan of West Quaco, Mike (Kathy) Hourihan of Norton, Lynn (Randy) Barton of Norton, Greg (Bonnie) Hourihan of Passekeag, Scott (Faith) Hourihan of Riverbank, Joanne (Elliott) Sommers of Passekeag, Tammy (Jeff) Long of Norton, many nieces and nephews and her dog Jade. Beth was predeceased by her parents, brother John Preston, nephew Jonathan Armstrong and father-in-law John Hourihan. Beth was a long time employee of Zellers and had been working at Virtual Agent Services in Sussex. She was an excellent cook and loved jewelry. She loved to sit and read murder mystery novels and spend time with David. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road Sussex (506-433-2133) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday May 12, 2011 at 11:00am in Trinity Anglican Church with Archdeacon David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Kirk Hill Cemetery at a later date.
