Obituary of Glen Mitton
After a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, Glendon Murray Mitton of Penobsquis, passed away on May 27, 2009 at the age of 48. Born in Penobsquis, a son of the late Cecil and Elsie (Mackenzie) Mitton. Glen is survived by his wife Angela Dawn (Doody) Mitton and their daughter Rebecca Mitton, his brothers; Bill (Jackie) of Moncton, Ronnie (Maureen) of Penobsquis, Travis (Doris) of Portage Vale, Cecil (Linda) of Riverview, Tim of Penobsquis, Craig (Judy) of Knightville, Danny, Jeff (Kelly) of Penobsquis, his sisters; Brenda (Murray) Dunfield of Berwick, Colleen (Gary) Piers of Picadilly, Peggy (Stephen) Francis of Norton and Patti Jo Liddle of Sussex, special niece Rachel Mitton, special nephew Duane Mitton and many nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Verna Doody of Five Points, brother-in-law Terence Doody of Victoria, BC and sisters-in-law Cheryl Doody of Hammondvale and Tanya Doody of Victoria, BC. Glen was employed for 22 years with Maritime Sod Ltd. in Berwick. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Sussex Golf and Curling Club. Glen also had a passion for hockey and played in the Sunday Morning League for T&M Homes. The family will receive visitors at the Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506-433-2133) on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8PM. The funeral service will be from Trinity Anglican Church, Sussex on Monday June 1, 2009 at 2:00PM with the Ven. David Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Pioneer Cemetery, Penobsquis. Donations made to a Living Memorial or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
