Obituary of Marion Helen Logan

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Marion Helen Logan (Carr) of Smiths Creek on February 24th, 2017, at the Sussex Health Centre, surrounded by her loving family. Marion was the wife of the late Omar Logan who passed away in 1999. Born in Saint John on January 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late J. Murray and Cora Beatrice (Crossman) Carr. Marion retired as a registered nurse after 43 years of dedicated service. She was a proud member of the Prince Edward Temple #22 Pythian Sisters, the Order of the Eastern Star Lord Beaverbrook Chapter #33, and a founding member of the Kings East Ladies Liberal Assoc. Marion loved music, and was an accomplished pianist that sang with the voice of an angel. Above all, Marion was a beloved mother who will be greatly missed by her son James Logan (Melissa) of Kerrville, TX; her daughters: Judith Moffatt of Ottawa, ON, Dawn Stoddard (Bob), Heather Carhart (Deryl), Faye Logan, Penny White, and Natalie Laurin (Bill), all of Sussex. She was the loving Grammy of 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and will be fondly remembered by many other loved ones. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex, NB (506-433-2133), from where visitation will be held on Monday February 27, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm; the Order of the Eastern Star will be holding a tribute service Monday evening at 5:45 pm.
