Obituary of Joseph Henry Sharp
It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of Joseph Henry Sharp of Apohaqui, husband of Elizabeth “Betty” (Walling) Sharp, which occurred on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born at Berwick, he was the son of the late William and Bessy (McKnight) Sharp. Joe was a truck driver all his working life, working for the Millstream Creamery, Butternut Bakery, Canada Packers, and retiring from LaFarge. He enjoyed being a working man, but had many talents and interests, including woodworking and looking after his vehicles, in which he took great pride. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his immediate and extended family. Joe was also an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens. In addition to his wife of nearly 58 years, Joe is survived by his children, Donna Elizabeth Turner of Apohaqui, Douglas Joseph Sharp (Melanie MacIntosh) of Sussex, Valerie Jean Sharp-Deer (Michael) of St-Sauveur, QC, and Gary William Sharp (Winnie) of Sussex Corner; grandchildren Kate Cummings (Darryl), Amy Turner, Shaun Turner (Dominique Armitage), Jeremy Sharp, Cory Sharp, Bridget Deer, Shannon Deer, Tracy Lea Sharp (Ben Kilpatrick), and Hilary Sharp (Jake McConchie); great grandchildren Warren and Anna Cummings, Jacob Sharp, Noah Turner, and Levi McConchie; a sister, Edna Springer of Sussex; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by sisters Annie Sharp and Alice Sharp.
