Mrs. Muriel Doreen Virtue was born in Saint John on June 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Otty and Florence Pearl (Pace) Lewis and the wife of the late Douglas Murray Virtue who passed away in 1994. Muriel and Doug were married in 1947. She was a former employee of the Fairway Hotel and Restaurant and worked making pickles at McCready's Plant. She was a member of the Salvation Army where she was a former Cradle Role Sergeant; she also donated her time to the daycare and the League of Mercy. She was a member of the Penobsquis Seniors. Muriel enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking and was very involved in her church, her family and her community.
