It is with great sadness that we, the Winchester Family, announce the death of Douglas G. Winchester who passed away April 1, 2012 at the Sussex Health Center at the age of 65. Born on February 21, 1947 in Saint John, NB, Doug was the son of the late Charles and Doris Winchester. Doug and Florence were married for 43 years and together they raised their family which included two boys, Michael and Steven and two girls, Nicole and Carla. Doug was very active in the community and involved with different organizations. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as the Sussex Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #20. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 502. He was a true family man who worked very hard to take care of his wife and children. Doug's hobbies included hunting and fishing or anything that took him outdoors. He made many friends throughout his life and was well known as a caring and giving man. Doug loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife Florence (Bergeron); his sons: Michael (Denise) of Fox Hill and Steven (Daphne) of Waterford; his daughters: Nicole Ricketson (Jim) of Hatfield Point and Carla Brown (Barry) of Quispamsis; grandchildren: Morgan and Dakota Winchester, Stephanie and Michael Richardson, James, Zachary and Noah Ricketson, Amy Cormier (Justin), Olivia and Isaac Brown; brothers: Deacon Lee Winchester (Claudette) and Richard Winchester (Joan); sisters: Jackie Armstrong (Tim) and Marlene Farnsworth (Wayne) as well as several nieces and nephews. Doug is predeceased by his parents Charles and Doris as well as his father in law Leopold Bergeron. Arrangements are entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4th from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
