Obituary of Lois Bessie Melanson

It is with great sadness that the family of Lois Melanson announces her passing, which occurred suddenly on Friday, May 27 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB, on December 10, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Freda (Graham) MacDoanld.

Lois is survived by her children: Deborah (Andrew) Rauska of Hampstead, NB, and Paul (Valerie Walker) Melanson of Sussex, NB ; her sister, Arletta Whiteside of Sussex, NB; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Melanson, of Norton, NB. Lois is also survived by her grandchildren: Jared Davis, Justin Davis, Janelle Davis-Bent, and Eric Melanson; her great grandchildren: Brooke Davis and Penelope Davis, along with several nieces, a nephew, and several cousins. Lois is also survived by her beloved cat’s, Beau, and Lily.

Along with her parents, Lois was predeceased by her son, Mark Melanson; her husband, Edwin “Butch” Kidder, and her former husband, George Melanson.

Lois loved to get together with family, whether it was a special occasion or just a Sunday meal. It was a bit intimidating cooking for Lois as she was an excellent cook. Lois also had a flair for home decorating and gardening. She loved to spend hours outside attending to her flowers, which were always so beautiful.

For a period of time, Lois lived in Bangor, Maine. She always looked forward to having family visit to share lots of laughs and to show us her favourite shopping spots.
