Mrs. Helen Eva Thorne of the Kiwanis Nursing Home formerly of Cedar Ave. passed away at her residence on March 26, 2008 at the age of 100. Born in Sussex on November 28, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Long) Sprague and was the wife of the late Roland Earl Thorne who passed away in 1997. Helen is survived by two daughters: Eva Palmer and her husband Cameron of Sussex Corner; Jean Grice of Sussex; two sons: Frank and his wife Melba of Roachville, Roland Jr. and his wife Margaret of Sudbury, Ontario. Ten grandchildren: Joanne Tinus and her husband Tony, Elaine Chadwick, Gary Palmer and his wife Cindy, Larry Grice, Donna Williamson, Philip Thorne and his wife Effie, Leanne Coughlan and her husband Wendell, Greg Thorne and his wife Christina, Tania Shay, and Gina Reid and her husband Joey; 23 great grandchildren: Timmy, Mark, Lisa, Evan, Corey, Drew, Allysa, Renee, Rebecca, Ryan, Ashlee, Zachary, Benjamin, Trevor, Alicia, Alexis, Austin, Mataya, Jerika, Layka, Isaiah, Julian, Elias and four great great grandchildren: Joanna, Samantha, Devon and Sarah; her daughter-in-law: Joyce Thorne of Sussex, four sisters-in-law: Margaret Sprague of Lower Millstream, Christina Sprague of Sussex, Margaret (Peggy) Sprague of Sussex and Anne Sprague of California;
