Obituary of Kenneth Pearson
Kenneth Lloyd Pearson of Sussex, New Brunswick, passed away on March 13, 2008 at the age of 79. Ken was born in Pearsonville, New Brunswick on November 22, 1928.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Verna; three daughters: Heather (Jack) O'Neill of Kelowna, B.C., Brenda (Jules Jones) Pearson-Jones, of Loretteville, P.Q. and Debra (Stephen) Maltby, of Whitehorse, Y.T.; two sons: Richard (Cathy) Pearson and David (Deb) Pearson, both of Edmonton, Alberta; his grandchildren: Andy, Deanna, James, Alainnah, Roxsane, Kyle, Chelsea, Tyler, Michael and Trevor. Ken was also survived by his brother, Ronald (Nadine) Pearson of Sussex; N.B., his sisters:Thelma (Joe) Whelton of Saint John and Mabel (Otty) Buchanan of Fredericton; two sisters-in-law: Ethel (Eugene) Pearson and Patricia (Melvin) Pearson; and many special nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his parents Murray and Florence Pearson,; and by his four brothers: Lewis, Eugene, Melvin and Gerald.
Ken served 26 years in the RCAF including one year with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in India and Pakistan. Ken was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20, Sussex, N.B., the A.F. & A.M. #14, Stathcona Lodge, the Hong Kong Veterans Commemorative Association and a former member of the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Association. Ken was a member of the St. John's Anglican Church where he sat on the vestry and the cemetery board.
Ken and Verna met and were married in Sussex, N.B. Ken joined the RCAF and thus embarked on a lifetime adventure living in various cities from coast to coast. Throughout the years, the family grew from 2 to 7 members. After returning to his roots in New Brunswick, Ken enjoyed working in the woods with his brothers, gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing and socializing with friends and family at the local dances. Ken's grandchildren brought him an amazing amount of joy and he found great pleasure in following their development into the wonderful young men and women they have become. Ken's legacy will be the various talents and interests that his grandchildren have as a result of the time they spent with their grandfather. Ken will live on in the hearts and memories of all of us.
