Obituary of Levi Ryder

Mr. Levi William Ryder ofColes Island, passed away on March 07, 2008 at the age of 97. Born in Bagdad, he was the son of the late Hansford Ryder and Sadie (McGarity).

Levi was a groundman for 22 years with CN Railways retiring in 1975.  He was a member of the Coles Island Baptist Church for many years.

Levi William is survived by his wife  Pearl Eliza Ryder, three daughters: Isabell Clark and her husband Lloyd of Cumberland Bay, Eva Wood and her husband Beverley of Coles Island, Hazel Wiggins of Coles Island, two sons: Robert Ryder and his wife Betty of Waterboro, Beverley Ryder and his wife Yvette of Mountain, Ontario; his sister-in-law: Edith Phillips of Coles Island; 23 grandchildren: Merlin, Weyman, Philip and his wife Christina, Anita, Joan and her husband Donald, Marty, Ralph, Larry and his wife Lynn, Virginia and her husband Basil, Benjamin and his wife Shannon, Wendy and her husband Barry, Matthew and his wife Natalie, Wayne and his wife Dorothy, Brian and his wife Della, Christine and Bert, Brenda, Barry and his wife Wendy, Norma and her husband Michael, Gordon and his wife Sheila, Catherine, Kelly, Warren and Patrick;  35 great-grandchildren: Cassandra, Jeffery, Tyler, Tiffany, Tina, Tonya, Mitchell, Michael, Mark, Randy, Eric, Bonnie, Holly, Sharon, Melissa, Jessica, Morgan, Andrew, Courtney, Terry, Victoria, Bryden, Tabetha, Evan, Bradley, Murray, Nickolas, Dustin, Melissa, Damien, Devin, Conrad, Lucas, Alex and Laughlin; three great-great grandchildren: Dylan, Aiden and Lillie; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Levi was predeceased by his brother Hansford, four sisters: Olive McBeath, Eva Barton, Violet Ryder and May Ryder, a great-grandson, Spencer Wood and his son-in-law Floyd Wiggins; 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176) where visitation will be held on Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm .  

A service celebrating Mr. Ryder’s life will be held from Coles Island Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 11:00 am.
