Obituary of Cyril Sears
Mr. Cyril Lloyd (Cecil) Sears was born in Sackville on March 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Cyril and Agnes (Spencer) Mumby. Cyril is survived by his wife Barb Sears; his daughter, Sherry Pedersen and her husband Brian of Innisfail, Alberta; 3 sons: Walter of Penobsquis, Stephen and his wife Paula of Roachville and Bradley and his wife Pam of Millstream; his sister Mary Mosher and her husband Harry of Parrsboro; 9 grandchildren: Ryan, Kristin, Jena, Amy, Jeremy, Jessica, Caitlin, Blake and Matthew; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Thomas who passed away March 29, 1960 in Germany and by 2 brothers: Harvey McPhee and Arnold Sears. Cyril served as a Sergeant with the Canadian Army during WWII in the early 40s and in the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Dept. of Public Works, maintaining and inspecting many post offices. Cecil was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Sussex Branch # 20. Mr. Cyril Sears of Penobsquis, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on January 27, 2008 at the age of 81.
