Obituary of Louise "Weezie" Ella Black
It is with great sadness that the family of Louise “Weezie” Ella Black announce her passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on December 3, 2022 at the age of 83. She was the daughter of Ottie and Eva (Carson) Kierstead and the wife of the late Albert Black.
Louise loved to keep herself busy; everything from hunting and fishing to quilting and knitting. She even played guitar and harmonica. She was very active in her community and with the Canaan Seniors Group. If there was something going on in Canaan you could guarantee that Louise was cooking.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She will live on in the hearts of her children: Murray Black and his wife Emily of Wards Creek, David Black of Fredericton and Gail Fanjoy and her husband Bill of Penobsquis; her grandchildren: Lacey (Dave), Noah, Danielle (Mike), Jessica (Jesse), Candy, Cassandra and Davie; six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her brothers: Stillman Kierstead, Vergil Kierstead and Eugene Kierstead and by her sisters: Luella Beck and Bernice Alward.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506) 433-1176. A Celebration of Louise’s life will be held from Canaan Forks Cemetery on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 2:00pm. There will be a time of fellowship with the family at the Canaan Baptist Church at 3pm.
Memorial donations in memory of Louise, may be made to the Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
