Obituary of Steve Kret

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen Daniel Kret announce his sudden passing on December 1st, 2022 at the age of 33.

Steve was born in Ontario on April 18th, 1989. He spent many years growing up in Grand Valley, ON with his foster parents Donnie and Sheryl Tower who are now predeceased. Steve met Kerry in 2006, in Orangeville ON where they had two children and lived together for 14 years.

Steve moved to Poodiac, New Brunswick in June of 2020 during COVID where he became a homesteader, raising farm animals–two cows, three pigs, two goats, chickens and quail, ducks, rabbits and had two cats and a dog named Luna.  Steve grew his own vegetables from seed and planted an organic garden.   His dream was to build his own cabin and live off the land with his family.  He enjoyed cooking, swimming, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking and lived life to the fullest.

He will live on in the hearts of his children, Stephen and Aubrey; the mother of his children, Kerry Jannetta of Hampton; his sister, Alicia Kret of Ontario and her children, Sarah, Julia and Riley; his beloved dog Luna; as well as his extended family and friends.

He is predeceased by his mom, Helen Kret and his stepfather, Patrick Gear.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex (506) 433-1176. A Celebration of Steve’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:00pm (Atlantic standard time).
