Obituary of Joe Benjamin

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Joseph (Joe) Leslie Benjamin announce that he has passed peacefully on December 31, 2022 at home at the age of 72 with family by his side.

Joe was born in St. Martins at home on January 15th, 1950 and was the son of the late William and Myrtle Benjamin.

Before he retired, Joe worked at the Atlantic Silica in Cassidy Lake, New Brunswick where he and his wife raised their daughter nearby. He could be found spending his spare time playing darts, hunting, golfing and spending time with his camping family. For those who knew Joe know that he wasn’t a man of many words, but he leaves behind a big impact on those who had the privilege of getting to know him.

Joe will live on in the loving hearts of those he has left behind; his wife, Heather; his only daughter, Judy and her husband Gerard (McKinney); his granddaughters, Payton Conrad and Brooklyn McKinney; his brothers Donnie (Rose) Johnson, Nathan Benjamin, and Chesley (Carol) Benjamin, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Norma Thompson and Gloria McKay, brother-in-law Ralph Thompson, brother-in-law Jack McKay, and sister-in-law Wanda Benjamin.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex NB from where visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 11am-2pm. A Celebration of Life for Joe will immediately follow in the Wallace Community Chapel. Donations in memory of Joe may be made to the benefit for the family of Marissa Miller (payable at the funeral home or via etransfer at ry.miller@live.com) or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. Condolences to the family and donations may be made through WallaceFuneralHome.com

There will be a time of fellowship and reception with the family at 38 Creek Rd Berwick, NB immediately following the Celebration of Life.
