Obituary of Ethel Marie Bartlett

It is with great sadness that the family of Ethel Marie Bartlett announces her passing, which occurred on January 6, 2023 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 1, 1940, she was a daughter of the Late Frank and Anne (Meehan) Ellis.

Ethel is survived by her daughters: Brenda Lee Durant and her husband Bruce of Saint John, Kimberly Bartlett of Montreal, Tonni MacKenzie and Wayne Estabrooks of Amherst, Wanda Gowlett and her husband Bryant of Sussex, and  Linda Mitchell and her husband Hugh of Blacks Harbour; her sons: Murray (Joe) Bartlett and his wife Brenda of Saint John, Dana Bartlett and Carol Ann of Saint John and Mark Bartlett and Candy Collins of Alberta; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Eileen Gillis and her husband, Phil;  her brother, Dana Dean of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Murray; her sister, Francis Marr; and her brothers, Norman and Frank Ellis.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 12 from 11am-1pm from the Wallace Community Chapel, followed by a celebration of Ethel’s life at 1pm, also from the chapel. A reception will follow the service.
