Obituary of Margery Joan Dunfield

It is with great sadness that the family of Margery Joan Dunfield announces her passing following a brief illness. She went peacefully with her family at her side on February 4, 2023 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born in Mt. Middleton, NB, on December 31, 1942, she was the youngest daughter of the Late Joseph and Della (Sharp) Hodgson.

Marge touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the laughter and love in the room. She was the celebration of the moment. She was the bubbles in the champagne. She was the patience in the chaos. She was the bright light in the darkness. She is the hope for the future.

Marge is survived by her loving husband Harry of Quispamsis. Children: Greg (Lisa Marie) of Whitby ON, Melissa (James) of Quispamsis, and Bev (Conrad) of Fredericton. Grandchildren: Iain, Remi, Katherine, Patrick and her sisters Marie Webster of Moncton, Jean Walker of Bellwood ON, and Anna Crawford of Mt. Middleton. Marge is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Along with her parents, Marge was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Hodgson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A celebration of Marge’s life will be held at St. Andrew’s Kirk United Church (196 Hammond River Rd, Quispamsis, NB) on Sunday February 12th at 2:00pm.

We would like to thank the ER team, the Nursing team of 5AS, Dr. Mackin, and Dr. Comeau for the care and compassion they showed Marge during her brief illness.

Donations in memory of Marge may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
