Betty Truchon

Obituary of Betty Truchon

The family of Bertrande (Betty) Truchon of Sussex, NB is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on February 11, 2023 at the age of 83.

Betty was born in St. Alexandre de Lacs, QC on August 13, 1939. She later moved to Amqui, QC where her four children were born. In 1973, her family relocated to the Sussex area. She was a hard working woman who dedicated many years to the Sussex poultry plant to provide for her family. Betty exemplified pure resilience throughout her life having overcome many health hurdles. Her family will forever remember her as a survivor who embodied strength, bravery, and forgiveness.

It brought her great joy when one of her children or grandchildren would stop by for a visit. She expressed her love by preparing food. Only content when the kids left with a full belly. You would often find her sitting in her rocker making her daily phone calls to family near and far. She loved checking in to see how you were doing or just to say hello. She looked forward to her visits to Montreal where she’d spend quality time with family. She was quite fond of her daily routine and enjoyed the simple things in  life such as a cup of tea with dessert, a glass of wine with music, and her evening prayers before bed.

Betty will live on in the hearts of her children: Linda (Andrew) Burton, Danny Truchon, Roch  Truchon (Julie), and Josee (George) McPhee; grandchildren: Jacob (Megan) Burton, Hollie Burton (John),  Colton (Kayla) McPhee, Chandra (Devin) Snell, Janelle McPhee (Eric), Chad Truchon, Drew Truchon, and  Kyle Truchon; her great grandchildren; siblings: Bertrand Leclerc, Denise Leclerc, Nicole Leclerc (Gilbert),  Yvan Leclerc (Noelline), Lucie Leclerc (Gary), Benoit Leclerc and her many nieces and newphews. She is  predeceased by her loving parents, her brother Jean-Marc and her brother in law Reginald.

We believe heaven is a beautiful place. Mom lived life through faith and we know god is holding her gently with a special place for her in his garden.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A celebration of Betty’s life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 1:00pm.
