I was very saddened to hear about Connel's passing. I knew Connel through being in the Plumbing Industry, but really got to know him when he coached my son in Minor Baseball. Of course he promptly talked me into helping out( in other words being an asisstant coach). It was a truly enjoyable ecperience and I got to learn what a kind and funny person he was. My condolenecs to his family at this time and always treasue your memories.

I knew Connel as a soldier, a plumber and as a friend. He was a dedicated tradesman and I will miss his dry sense of humour as he would enjoy my incorrect solution to the problem and then correct the problem.

I met Connel through the military. He was always pleasant and most times smiling. He worked his plumbing magic on our home. Again always pleasant and smiling. His smile was infectious. I had to smile back. We curled together a few times. Great laughs. The last time I saw Connel was at his home where the Riffraff had their social. We talked a bit over drinks and lobster. A little confused but still smiling. He seemed to love life. I will remember him.

I remember well, Connel , from my youth youth growing up in Havelock, School, sports, (ball and hockey), July first activities all those community events that facilitted everyone a chance to socialise. As an adult and moving away from "my hometown" many of of my childhood friends are/were unknown to me as adults, Reading what Connel did in his adult life , is not surprising in the least, he just got better in life as an adult and being a part of and a leader in his community! He was for sure consistent from youth to adulthood. For sure a man his family and friends can be proud of, may he rest in peace and his memory be with his loved ones for ever!

It's not easy to follow Dan Brown if I finish next. Connel was a hell of a nice guy that is the Connel that I knew. He did some plumbing work for me over the year's he did quality work for a fair price. I knew him to be kind with a great sense of humour. Who doesn't need humour in their lives? On behalf of my family please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

A rival skip at the curling club, Connel and I had many late nights at the club discussing the big shots that were made or missed. Connel invited me to my first bonspiel away from home, a trip to Grand Manan. I jumped in Connel's truck at 5am and he greeted me with a cooler full of beer and a big smile on his face. A weekend I will never forget. A few years later we made a trip to CFB Greenwood for a bonspiel which involved staying in the army barracks. I know Connel loved his life that weekend and he made sure I did too.
Connel's last year working I was fortunate enough to be on a few of the same job sites. He was a man who took pride in his work and it showed.
A guy like Connel you'll never forget him. One of a kind and he will be missed!

Ellen, I and our boys send our most sincere condolences to Connel's family and all who loved him. As so many have said, Connel was our "go to guy" for plumbing no matter what time of day. He always responded and always did good work. His love of baseball and his dedication to keep minor ball alive in the down time was exemplary. He spent many, many hours maintaining fields and organizing gangs to keep them in good condition. I suggest that the Sussex Corner field where he did so much could be named after him as our tradition has done in past for exceptional volunteers. Connel was also an avid curler who won two NB Diamond Seniors Championships (2015& 2016) and a Buttermilk Bonspiel in 2017 which was a highlight. Mostly he was a good friend whose kindness and generosity was notable. We will miss him, his loyalty and ,of course, his million $ smile. Rest in Peace, good friend!

We are truly saddened to see that Connel has passed. Seeing Connel in the nursing home was heartwrenching but he did exhibit that beautiful smile of his. Connel was also our go to plumber and a good one at that. I first met Connel through his brother Reg years ago, a young boy in Lower Ridge. Seeing his accomplishments, speaks volumes about his character and love of family and community. Rest in peace Connel, your torment of dementia is over.
