Sorry to be reading of Joe's passing. Having Jane Brooks as my neighbour for a good part of my adult life I know Joe would have been in good hands with no disrespect to his wife of 43 years in Patricia. He was lucky to have found love for a second time. His obituary paid tribute to a loving man that lived a fulfilling life. Our sincerest condolences to his children and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. He will live on in your heart and fond memories.

Jennifer and Dana,
Your father was a great man. So many memories growing up with your family. Whether it was just visiting or coming over for a swim when you lived on St. George Street, gathering at your uncle Mike’s for a Christmas party back in the day, or the times at my uncle’s house visiting or helping during hay season.
Joe wasn’t afraid of hard work, a lending hand, and some hard advice, whether you wanted it or not. He was a straight shooter and no time for bs. However, he was very kind and a big family man. Both your parents were.
I think the thing I will take away from knowing your dad was hard work and his protectiveness and steadfast manner. I remember when he would do the hands up whatever Trish wants gestures, to having an infectious smile when you knew he was up to something…or was that the crown royal? The money talks with dad, and the laughs.
My heart aches for you both as you navigate this loss. Sending you my deepest condolences, my love, my thoughts and prayers. Cherish and hold on to the memories. You girls were lucky to have amazing parents who loved you both so dearly.

Dana, Jennifer & families,
We’re so very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. A large chunk of my fonder childhood memories are found at someone’s camp in the Mercer Settlement/ Parleeville region but almost always with your parents & our families that became intertwined. A good time was always had & possibly the odd Crown Royal. I hope the countless memories & laughs will bring some comfort to you as you cope with this loss. Sending our deepest condolences to you all.

I always have the most fond memories of living down the street from you all! A blessing that family is also your friends. Uncle Joe always called me Amelia, telling me I was adopted and my real name was Amelia not Amy! I tell that story to my girls from time to time haha. Your dad loved you all so very much! I am so sorry for this loss to you all and the hole it leaves in your lives. Much love, Amy (aka... Amelia)
