Obituary of Les Davidson

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Mr. Leslie Harvey Davidson announce his passing at the Sussex Health Center on March 31 2024 (Easter) at the age of 87.

He was born January 4, 1937 in Apohaqui New Brunswick. The son of the late Amos and Estella (Ritchie) Davidson.

Leslie worked in Saint John prior to working in Sussex for Sussex Cheese & Butter, Glendale Homes and GE Barbour's where he retired.

Les was a longtime member of the Sussex Fire Department, his service spanned over 35 years.  He would race down Church Ave to the fire hall when the horn/pager went off. When people ran out of a burning building, Les and his colleagues would walk in. Les was involved in an explosion that ended with a hospital stay.

Les enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, fiddlehead picking and looking after his garden. Les could be found a lot of evenings at Adairs garage talking and lending a hand if asked. He loved to drive the back roads of the area.

Leslie is predeceased by his wife Ina (Tays) in 2019, brothers George, Kenneth & Norman and sisters Ethel & Treva.

Survived by his son Richard (Helen) of Guelph, ON, grandson Jason (Gillian) Lucan, ON, granddaughter Jessica Piaseczny (Rob) of Guelph ON and great grandchildren Madison, Easton, Jenson & Evelyn Lesley born Apr 2. Many nieces and nephews both in New Brunswick and across North America.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff of south wing, various extramural nurses, Dr Robbins and his caregiver Esther.
