Ronnie Inkpen

Obituary of Ronnie Inkpen

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ronald Frederick Inkpen announce his sudden passing on April 19, 2024 at the age of 52.

Born in Sussex, NB he was the son of the late Sir Dillwyn and Loretta (Lewis) Inkpen.

Coming from a rather large family with 5 other siblings, Ron had strong family values embedded deep within him. So when he met the love of his life, Trish, it was inevitable he would step up and help raise her children as his own, and he did just that.

He worked as a groundskeeper at the Sussex Golf club for 27 years. He often stated he disliked the sport....lol, but he did his job with an abundance of skill and knowledge of the greens and fairways that would rival the fellows on the PGA Tour....the course was his pride and joy.

In 2007, his twin brother Rodney passed away. Since that time, he was often quoted as saying that a part of his soul was missing. he could have been right....it's a twin thing I believe.

Always willing to lend a hand, he often worked along side of brother Steve doing construction jobs for people. Always listening, learning, eager to show big brother what he could do.

Ron seldom missed a family event. From lobster boils in the Mirimichi to family BBQ's or even an evening poker game, he was there smiling and laughing.

His biggest passion? The Inkpen Homestead, or "My Happy Place" as he liked to call it. Quite often you'd find him and Trish out there on the weekend camping or cleaning up the grounds, or just hanging with the boys having a cold beer or 2. Maybe because he realized he was back at his grass roots. The place where he grew up to become the loving , caring, respected father, brother and husband he truly was.

Rest easy brother.....till we meet again....

He will live on in the hearts of the love of his life, Trish Inkpen; his children: Tyler Tanner of Nova Scotia, Ryan Foster and Jena of Penobsquis, Chandler Foster and Brittany of Sussex and Renee “Dolly” Foster and Jayden of Fredericton; his siblings: Stepen Inkpen and his wife Ronalda of Sussex Corner, Wendy Inkpen of Sussex and Heather Shaddick and her husband Randy of Miramichi; his brothers-in-law: Randy Graham of Sussex, Adam Wheaton (Pam Asbridge) of Sussex and Douglas Wheaton of Norton; his father-in-law, Roy Wheaton of Sussex; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his twin brother, Rodney Inkpen who passed away in 2007; his sister, Jann Graham who passed away in 2023 and by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Foster who passed away in 2022.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB, (506-433-1176) from where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 6-8pm. The Celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2024 at 11:00am.
