Glennie was born in South Branch on July 28, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Glennie (Aiton) McQuinn and the wife of the late Kenneth Dick who passed away in 1968. Glennie graduated from Sussex High School and continued her education at the Saint John General Hospital, graduating in 1938. She remained a nurse there until her marriage to Ken Dick in 1942. After their marriage, they moved to Saint John and then to Quebec. In the early 1960's, after the children had grown, Glennie returned to nursing as a private duty nurse at the Jeffrey Hale Hospital in Quebec. In 1967, they returned to Saint John where she became head nurse at the east Saint John Hospital. In 1976, Glennie returned to Sussex and retired where she lived until the opening of Kings Manor where she remained until 2006. At the age of 55, Glennie received her driver's license and drove until she was 92. Glennie was a member of the NBRNA and the Alumni of the Saint John General Hospital.
