Obituary of George Hardy

It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Robert Hardy announce his passing at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on August 23, 2024 at the age of 92.

Born in Montrose, PEI on October 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Ralph and Millie (Gard) Hardy and the husband of the late Helen (Bridges) Hardy.

George moved from PEI after farming and trucking to Saint John, NB. In 1972, he worked for modular structures Grand Bay and as a carpenter for the City of Saint John – his health let him retire in 1987.

He was a hardworking man, who was always up for a chuckle and said whatever came to his mind. You never had to wonder what he was thinking.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Harold Hardy and his wife Deb of Cambridge Narrows, Roberta Strongman of Sussex and Barb Fudge of Saint John; his sisters: Irene Kats of Waterdown, ON and Edith MacArthur and her husband Wyman of PEI; his grandchildren: Chris, Stephen, Michelle, Ben, Rylan, Josh, Meaghan and Alex; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and his wife, he is predeceased by his brothers: Herb, Robert, Winston and Wendell; his son-in-law, Ray and his granddaughter, Lacey.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB from where visitation will be held on Monday, August 26th, 2024 from 2-4 pm. A Celebration of George's  Life will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:00pm
