Obituary of Richard Hope

Richard "Dick" Douglas Hope of 28 Bridge Street Apohaqui, passed away at the at his residence on July 13, 2007 at the age of 61. Born in Sussex on December 1, 1945, he was the son and Ruby (Campbell) Hope of Apohaqui and the late Alfred A. Hope who passed away in 1971. Dick is survived by his mother, two brothers: Jim and his wife Dee of Cambridge Narrows and Wayne and his wife Donna of Lunnenburg, NS; a special nephew: Jim Hope and his wife Krista of Sussex; as well as his nieces: Heidi, Amanda, Crystal and Shannon and his nephew Adam. Dick served overseas in Cyprus from 1965-1966 with the Canadian Army in the 2nd Battalion. He was a self employed painter. He was a former employee of Glendale Homes and Sussex Poultry. In his youth he was a great athlete and loved to play hockey. Dick was a good hearted man and a good neighbour to everyone in the Village. He was well thought of and was always there to lend a hand. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, Dick was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Norton Branch # 76.
