Obituary of Hazen Burton Knox
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Hazen Burton Knox announce his passing on Monday, December 16, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Hazen was born in Saint John, NB on November 28, 1947, and was a son of the late Hazen and Dorothy (McGrath) Knox.
Hazen was a hard worker. He worked at T.S. Simms Brush Factory at the age of 18, where he met the love of his life, Carol. They got engaged and then married and had 3 children together. He then started a job at Kimberly-Clark Irving Tissue, where he worked for 43 years.
Hazen loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, ATV’s, camping and swimming.
Hazen was a family man who was well loved. He was funny, always making people smile and laugh. He was the kind of gentle soul who was loved by all who met him. He will be forever missed.
Hazen will live on in the hearts of his loving wife, Carol, of Plumweseep; his children: Hazen of Saint John; Blake (Amanda) of Rothesay; and Tracy Veinot (Jimmy) of Kingston Peninsula; his grandchildren: Amber, Alyssa, and Meranda; his great grandchildren: Evelyn, Avery, and Grayson; his siblings: Greg Knox (Lucinda) of Saint John, Danny Knox of Saint John, Kevin Knox (Nancy) of Saint John, Bonnie Knox-Savard (Charlie) of Rothesay, and Jacqueline Savard (Ron) of Saint John; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Poirier (Monique); and sister-in-law, Rose Boudreau (Donald). Hazen is also survived by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends, especially his Tim Horton’s crew.
Besides his parents, Hazen was predeceased by his sisters, Brenda Morrison and Sharon Knox, his sister-in-law, Linda Knox, and special sister-in-law, Sandra Poirier.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, NB (506-433-1176). A reception will take place on Saturday, December 28 from 1-3pm in the Wallace Funeral Home reception room.
