Mr. George Malcolm Melanson of 44 Essex Street Sussex passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on June 12, 2007 at the age of 72. Born in Saint John on February 8, 1935, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Laird) Melanson. George is survived by his daughter, Debbie Davis of Saint John; his son, Paul Melanson and Valerie Walker of Sussex; and by their mother Lois Melanson who has been by his side through out his illness, his sister, Bernice Sorckoff of Saint John, four grandchildren: Jared, Janelle, Justin and their father Butch Davis, and Eric Melanson; as well as several nieces and nephews. George will be also be greatly missed by Arletta Whiteside of Sussex and Sandy Melanson of Clover Hill, whom he was very close to, and his dog Baby. George is predeceased by his son, Mark and his brother Jackie. In the late 1960 and 70
