Ellen Elizabeth McLaughlin was born in Ireland on September 26, 1922; she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Gillies) Sandford and was the wife of the late Henry Joseph McLaughlin who passed away in 1982. Ellen enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and her family. She loved walking listening to the birds, collecting sea shells and rocks on beach Ellen is survived by four daughters: Gloria Payne and her husband Frank, Marie McLaughlin and her husband Doug, Eileen Hardy and her husband George, Theresa Middleton; four sons: David McLaughlin and his wife Jessie, William McLaughlin, Gary McLaughlin and his wife Tracey and Fred McLaughlin and his wife Jane; her brother, Nathaniel Sandford; 11 grandchildren: Heather, Jeffery, Shawn, Erin, John, Elaine, Jenny, Jamie, Izaak, Jacob and Ashley; two step-grandsons: Roger and Danny; four great grandchildren: Jordan, Kayla, Lucas and Gracein, as well as several nieces and nephews Ellen was predeceased by her son, Phillip; four brothers, Thomas, William, Sterling, Gordon; four sisters, Mary, Nora, Bella and Emily; her son-in-law, Frank Middleton and by twin grandsons, Marcus and Phillip. Ellen Elizabeth McLaughlin of Lakefield Road, Cassidy Lake, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on June 1, 2007 at the age of 84. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11:00 am. The interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery.
