Obituary of William Ramsay

Mr. William Joseph Denis Ramsay of Pleasant Ridge, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 12, 2007 at the age of 80. Born in Petit Rocher, on January 13, 1927, he was the son of the late Arthur and Eunice (O'Brien) Ramsay. William is survived by his wife Ruth; his son, David Ramsay and his wife Ruth Ingersoll-Ramsay of Saint John; eight stepchildren: Betty Morin and her husband John Wright of Halifax, Austin Folkins and his wife Joan of Mt. Middleton, Raymond Folkins and his wife Laura of Keirstead Mountain, Donald Folkins of Moncton, Lawrence Folkins and his wife Dixie of Berwick, Burton Folkins and his wife Mary of Fredericton, Elmer Folkins of Carsonville, Everett Folkins and his wife Kathleen of Pleasant Ridge; five sisters: Mercia Farrell and her husband Leslie of Montreal, Myrtle Murphy and her husband Eugene of Windsor, Ont.; Irene Maxwell of Beresford, Vera Ramsay of Newcastle, Verna Dixon and her husband Roger of Windsor, Ont., three brothers: Pat of Newcastle, James of Newcastle, Paul of Newcastle; 27 step grandchildren: Jenny Briggs and her husband Mike, Austin Jr. and his wife April, Carolyn McEwen and her husband Andrew, Lois Hall and her husband Bob, Cecil and his wife Thelma, Mary Ann Bustin and her husband Mark, Rosalie Heuver and her husband Eric, Cindy LeBlanc and her husband Robert, Stewart and his wife Laura, Donald and his wife Tom, Andrew, Stephanie, Tyler, Ryan, Joel, Blake, Garret, Christopher, Jennifer, Cassandra, Katrina, Alice, Amanda, David, Micheal, Kelly and Crystal; 25 step great grandchildren: Mathew, Todd, Trista, Zachary, Mitchell, Shianne, Nathan, Cory, Emily, Joseph, Sabrina, Johnathan, Mark, Jake, Luke, Maria, Eve, Nathan , Grace, Claire, Luc, Celena, Jermey, Craig and Tom; several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, George and Gordon. Bill served Overseas as Cpl with the Provost Regiment in the Canadian Army during the Korean War.
