Obituary of Primrose Lewis

Mrs. Primrose May Lewis of 774 Coverdale Rd. Riverview, passed away at the Grass Special Care Home, Riverview on January 16, 2007 at the age of 88. Born in Coles Island on April 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Walter Charles and Bessie May (Phillips) Silk and was the wife of the late John Wesley Lewis who passed away in 1983. Primrose is survived by three sons: Allison and his wife Judy of West Columbia, South Carolina, Neil and his wife Mary of Moncton, Gordon Lewis and his wife Irene of Sussex; three daughters: Lois Lewis of Conn, Ontario, Cheryl Daye and her husband David of Mississauga, Ontario, Carol Hopper and her husband Leon of Riverview; her brother, Leonard Silk and his wife Sally of Summerside, PEI; two sisters: Betty Stevens-Black and her husband Claude of Cody's, Norma Hay of Coles Island;12 grandchildren: John and his wife Karen, Cathy Paris and her husband Keith, Heather Schaub and her husband John, Joan Reed and her husband Mark, Joyce Lewis, Daniel and his wife Patti, Deborah Foster and her husband Shawn, Gordonna Hache and her husband Clarence, Thomas Lewis, Roxanne Cunneyworth and her husband Jason, Candice Daye and Melissa Fudge; 16 great grandchildren: Melissa, Beth Ann, Caitlynn, Lori, Samuel, Sarah, Jonathan, Heather, Ian, Amber, Robin, Brenna, Derek, Jessica, Taylor and Griffin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Primrose was predeceased by two brothers: Cardiff and Emery and his wife Erma; her brothers-in-law: Bob Stevens and John Hay. Primrose cooked for several years in Lumber Camps. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crafts and travelling to see her family throughout Canada and the US. She raised her six children and was a caregiver to many family and friends. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Wallace Community Chapel on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 2:00 pm. The interment will take place at Coles Island Cemetery in the spring.
