Mrs. Jean Alice Patterson of Urney and formerly of Route 10 Roachville, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 18, 2006 at the age of 70. Born in Berwick on May 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Alice Mae (Chestnut) Parlee and the wife of the late George Patterson who passed away in 2004. Jean is survived by three daughters: Mary Lou Holder and her husband Gregg of Lower Millstream, Janet Greene and her husband Doug of Saint John and Sheila Fanjoy and her husband Oscar of Urney; her sister, Evelyn McEwen of Roachville; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Rianna, Amber, Maggie and Brian; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was predeceased by her brother Clifford in 1975. Jean worked with her husband in their trucking business. She loved her handicrafts and needlework. As a girl, she enjoyed working outside with her father. He would cut down trees and she would help by peeling off the bark. She was also very close to Clifford and Evelyn. As a young girl she moved in with a lady, who was blind, to work as a helper. The lady taught her to knit and crochet. Much of Jean
