Obituary of James Cotter

Mr. James Edward Cotter of Sussex, NB passed away at Sussex Health Centre on November 14, 2006 at the age of 77. Born in Sussex, NB on January 14, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter and Theresa (McManus) Cotter. Ed is survived by his beloved wife Betty (O'Leary) Cotter, his step-mother Mary (Hynes) Cotter of Sussex Corner; his daughter, Cathy Cotter and Corey Redekop of London, Ontario; his son, David and his wife Heather of Rothesay; two sisters: Lois McQuinn and her husband Jarvis of Sussex, Geraldine Reinders and her husband Ted of Saint John; three brothers: Phelan and his wife Betty of New Glasgow, NS, Frank and his wife Mary Lou of Fredericton, Paul and his wife Judith of Alliston, Ontario; his sister-in-law, Honey of Quispamsis; his grandson, Xavier David; his Aunt Doreen Doherty of Waterford, as well as several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his brother, John. Ed was an employee with the Department of Transportation for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church where he was an active member of the Kitchen Crew. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crib and cards. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), with visitation on Thursday 7-9, Friday 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Royal Canadian Legion, Sussex Branch # 20 will hold a tribute on Friday at 6:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 11:00 am. Interment will take at Wards Creek Cemetery.
